I was so happy to finally get my hands on Knitcraft’s new super chunky yarn ‘Hug it Out’. It’s 100% acrylic which makes is soft, squishy and perfect for scarfs, cowls, jumpers and home decor. It comes in several different shades but I fell in love with this gorgeous pink called ‘Shell’.
When deciding what to make with the yarn I found a cushion pad in my craft stash and immediately set to work making a simple but textural cushion cover. I’m really pleased with the result so I’ve included the pattern details below which will allow you to make your own.
I absolutely loved working with this yarn and have recently been really impressed with the selection of yarns Knitcraft (part of Hobbycraft) are now offering in store and on-line. They are reasonably priced and excellent quality!

Fasten off at the end of Row 42, leave a long tail for sewing.
Wrap crochet around cushion pad with right side facing, sew together across back of cushion using long tail left on last row (ensuring that the textured section of the cushion cover is covering the front of the pad and the join is along the middle of the back). Weave in ends.
Cut a length of yarn twice as long as the cushion, use this to sew one side together. Repeat on the other side and weave in ends.
